Cynthia Louise Bissett is the vice president of the mobile operators Verizon. Joseph Anthony Germanotta Jr. was the director of a firm that operates an Internet-based networking system. His family is Catholic and she was raised on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. To avoid the pitfalls of this lifestyle, her parents decided to enroll in the Convent of the Sacred Heart which is a revered and prestigious school. When she was little she was an avid music fan. She learned how to play the piano from a young age and composed her first song of original composition at age thirteen. She was a part of the open mic evening. Her favorite artists included David Bowie, Madonna and Queen Michael Jackson. Following her graduation from high school, she enrolled in the Tisch School of Art at New York University to study music. The student did not finish her studies, but she left the school to start her music career.
